Press ~ to open cheat prompt, then enter the cheat.

    The cheat code is:
create_unit (settlement/character name) (unit id) (opt: how many) (opt:exp/weapon/armor)
To find the unit id, you have to find the file location they are in. The file location I found them in was:
C:Program FilesThe Creative AssemblyRome - Total Wardata
and then the file name was export_descr_unit_enums.
Example code for putting five units of roman urban cohort with 9 exp, 3 weapon/armor into Rome:
    create_unit Rome 'roman legionary cohort urban i' 5 9 3 3

You can only use the add money cheat once, for a maximum of 40,000. So start or load up a game, do your money cheat, then turn off the game all the way. Wait 5-10 minutes, then turn Rome Total War back on, then load up your game and you can get another 40 grand with the money cheat

If you are in a Battle for a city/settlement and are about to lose it, destroy any siege weapon the enemy posess, then exit the battle. You will keep the city/settlement.

If you do the money cheat you can re-do that cheat instantly without typing anymore by pressing the up arrow key. You can get millions in minuets. This also works with other cheats. You get huge cities in minuets.

If you're being attacked with a small force, when you're setting up your units make them go as far as possible and the enemy will get tired, thus giving your units a higher chance of victory.

Don't worry if you see the supposedly huge senate army around Rome. Their army consists of obsolete units like hestatai and princepes, and can easily be crushed with legionary cohorts and legionary cavalry, onagars, ect. But beware, as soon as you do away with the senate, the other loyal Roman factions declare war on you!
