Popcaan gave his former mentor Vybz Kartel a shout-out in his new single “Goals.”

Popcaan raised the bar even higher in his new dancehall track, “Goals.” The track was produced by Vybz Kartel Muzik and featured on the new project, Freedom Street Riddim. The single is available on all major streaming platforms including iTunes/Apple Music, Spotify, and Vevo. The artwork features Popcaan clad in a fur coat with a mansion on the hill and a Bentley in his eyesight.

“Drink Henny and pree life / Tell the system fi free Vybz Kartel / Affi sharp now like three knives cuz the demons them bad as well / Affi sit down and pree life cuz the people weh real yo just can’t tell,” Popcaan rhymes over the Freedom Street beat.

Since the start of the year, Popcaan has been dropping a ton of new music with a new release almost every weekend. Sometimes we get more that one song per week. The Unruly deejay recently called out some dancehall artists to make better music for the world stage and stop fighting against each other.

Popcaan might’ve found Koffee’s doppelganger.

The Unruly Boss posted the below video clip on the Gram, and it quickly went viral. The dancehall deejay was sitting next to a female who had a striking resemblance to reggae/dancehall sensation Koffee. At first, a lot of us thought that she was Koffee until we realize that it’s her long last twin. If Kof ever needs a stunt double for one of her music videos she can’t find this female for the role.

Aside from being the official doppelganger finder, Popcaan is using his influence to help develop his home parish St. Thomas. The dancehall deejay met with Prime Minister Andrew Holness this week to break ground on a site in the parish that will house a massive 365,000 square foot Urban Center that will help bring more jobs to the parish.

Popcaan also recently spoke out against rapist in Jamaica who are terrorizing young girls. The dancehall deejay called for mob justice to deal with the situation.

Cardi B says speaking Spanish doesn’t mean she is not black.

Cardi B says she gets a lot of criticism saying that she is not black because she speaks Spanish. She now wants the world to know that that is fake news. The “Press” rapper has been the subject of criticism on social media ever since she shot to stardom with her breakout hit “Bodak Yellow” in 2017. Some folks argued that she is Mexican or from Central America because she is a Bronx native and speaks Spanish.

Earlier this week, Cardi moved to set the record straight, but something tells me that this is not the end of the debate. “I’m not Mexican at all. I’m West Indian, and I’m Dominican,” she said on IG Live. “I speak Spanish because I’m Dominican. And it’s like, so what’s the difference between Dominican and Mexican?’ And it’s like, everything!”

Cardi B also chided some fans for regularly race-baiting her. “They always wanna race-bait when it comes to me, I have Afro features,” she continues. “‘Oh, but your parents are light-skinned… all right, but my grandparents aren’t.”

Perhaps her explanation will move the needle a little bit or maybe it won’t. Nevertheless, black people are living in the Caribbean who speaks Spanish. In the age of social media, you’re not going to please everyone.

Lizzo is claiming racist following an incident with a security guard at Summerfest.

R&B singer Lizzo was among the headlining acts at yesterday’s Summerfest music festival in Milwaukee. While she enjoyed the performance, she is also fuming over an incident involving her team and a security officer inside the venue. The “Truth Hurts” singer shared her experience on Twitter and Summerfest organizers have since responded saying that they’ve launched a full investigation.

“That was the best show ever but I feel like I can’t even celebrate cuz RACISM don’t matter if you a headliner…. SMH @Summerfest please send footage,” she tweeted before adding, “Tonight was beautiful. You are beautiful. But the struggle ain’t over. Racism and bigotry don’t care if you’re a headliner. Thank you @summerfest. We will be filing a complaint against that bigoted “security” guard and I hope you’ll be cooperative in seeking justice.”
